HOUSE SWAP

BY REBECCA FLEET

Dark, chilling to the bone and worthwhile.

Challenging characters, complicated situations and sinister revenge.

In a last attempt to save their dying relationship, Caroline and Francis sign up for the house-swap program for a week in a London suburb. When they settle into the sparsely furnished house, Caroline finds things that remind her of the extramarital affair she had two years ago with her co-worker Carl (8 years junior). Caroline suspects that her house swap partner, S.Kennedy, is Carl and her intrusive neighbour Amber might be a part of this. Two different timelines spiral out to reveal what actually happened between Caroline and Carl and why is the person going beyond the line to torment Caroline with her past?

I haven't read anything that shook me this much. The graphical depiction of situations was chilling to the bone for me. Despite some perplexing situations, I enjoyed this book for exploring the dark places of a human's mind through the simple process of House Swap. A real treat for the domestic noir fanatics.
